Ride4RHS Memorial Day!

What a great turnout and day Honoring our Fallen.

The high winds meant we didn’t get to ride, but that is not what the day was about. Memorial Day is about Patriots gathering together and Honoring those men and women who made the Ultimate sacrifice and for their families who carry on without them. It is a sacrifice that is easy to forget.

For those who have it, Freedom is like oxygen. It’s something we just have. Many will not understand just how precious either is until they are at risk of being taken away…

We remember a sacrifice made and a debt we cannot repay. Today we pray for the love of God i Heaven to bless the families of those who have lost loved ones while serving this great nation of ours. We pray to Him to bless and comfort the walking wounded who are still amongst us, and bless their families as well.

It is also our prayer that we remember their sacrifice and the precious gift of Freedom every day, not just once a year, anniversaries or when they are in danger of being taken away… so this we Pray- Amen. ???

Thank you to our host, the American Freedom Distillery, and to our sponsors: ABC Bicycles, The Birchwood, Bonefish, Kahwa Coffee, Great Bay Distributers, Nicklaus of Florida. Jersey Mike’s, Tracy and Eunice Livingstone of Pro Health and Col. John Alvarez and family.Thank you also to incredible musical duo, Nalani and Josh. Of course, none of this would have happened without our volunteers — thank you to each of you!

Please look out for our next Ride4RHS event on Veterans Day!

RHS Announces Community Outreach Program

RHS is thrilled to announce a new 2017 initiative to support local heroes throughout the year.

The RHS Community Outreach Program marks the expansion of the RHS mission: from its annual Patriot Day Memorial Event, now in its fifth year, with nearly $500K in proceeds raised to date, to a year-round fundraising mission. By raising funds throughout the year, RHS can provide financial assistance to aligned local charities to meet their on-going needs.

Our primary goal is to dedicate and donate monies as needed to our heroes. Funds raise may go to mental health support, particularly to help with PTSD and TBIs, in addition to providing equipment or financial support when possible. We will also be applying funds to youth education programs — with the goal of informing the next generation of the need to remember, honor and support our nation’s heroes. We will also be applying funds to youth education programs — with the goal of informing the next generation of the need to remember, honor and support our nation’s heroes and to understand the significance of 9/11 in our history.

How will we meet our goal? Through year-round “fun”-raising! This year RHS is adding several fun new events to its calendar, from the Ride for RHS fundraisers on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day, to additional events to be announced in the near future (check back!). If you would like to organize a fun-raising event to support our mission, please reach out to us!

A huge thank you St. Petersburg law firm, Englander Fischer, for their generous donation of office space to RHS.  Just look at the incredible building we get to work from. Thanks to Leonard Fischer, John Waechter (RHS board member) and their team, we have a dedicated office space to conduct our board meetings, handle daily operations, and–most importantly–raise funds for RHS beneficiaries.
